Microtown Fair of Catalonia in Planoles

Planoles hosts the new edition of the Microtown Fair of Catalonia, Saturday, November 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!

25 town councils from towns with less than 1,000 inhabitants from all over Catalonia will meet in Ripollès to show their tourist and cultural offer, projects, local products and activities. The musician and composer Manu Guix will be the godfather of the Fair.

Among the activities planned for this year, is the presentation of the "D'aquí estant veig una Estrella" festival in Riudaura dedicated to participatory oral tradition songs, a festival that is born from the book of the same name that collects traditional Catalan songs recorded from of the voices of people from the town. Tarrés will show its project "Camins de Pedra" to show the heritage, cultural and landscape attractions that this small municipality of the Garrigues has and Carme Freixa and Miquel Saña will present their new book 'La Tira de routes: 50 excursions pel Ripollès'.

On the other hand, the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU) will present a proposal for on-demand mobility. In addition, visitors will be able to do archery and play Catalan bowling.

The Association of Microtowns of Catalonia launched this initiative, with the desire to bring the diversity and reality of towns of less than a thousand inhabitants in Catalonia closer to the public. At the same time, the Association also seeks for the Fair to be a meeting space that promotes knowledge between municipalities. The aim is to make visible the reality of the rural world to show citizens that they can find a life option.
