European Heritage Days in Torrebesses

Once again, Catalonia is celebrating the European Heritage Days (EHD), an initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission that has been held uninterruptedly in Catalonia since 1991. It is considered the most important participatory activity in Europe related to cultural heritage.

The European Heritage Days are an event open to everyone and a great opportunity to rediscover our cultural heritage, with the main objective of strengthening the links between it and society.

Entitled "A Stroll Through the Old Town and the Walls," the initiative invites participants to wander through the historic streets of Torrebeses and observe the town from a heritage perspective. Throughout the tour , the strategic importance of the location and the role that the walls and other architectural elements played in shaping the old town will be explained.

The visit offers an engaging way to explore local history, discovering buildings, hidden corners, and remnants that often go unnoticed on a typical stroll. The tour will also help visitors understand how the urban landscape has changed over time and how the heritage still bears witness to different periods in Torrebeses' history.
