European Heritage Days in La Baronia de Rialb

The Barony of Rialb invites you to discover and enjoy the European Heritage Days (EHD)!

Once again, the Catalan Agency for Cultural Heritage is promoting the European Heritage Days (EHD), an initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission that has been held uninterruptedly in Catalonia since 1991 and is considered the most important participatory activity in Europe in relation to cultural heritage .

The program will begin on Saturday at noon in Polit, with a guided tour of the village center and the altarpiece of Sant Iscle and Santa Victoria de la Torra. This tour will allow participants to discover the historical and artistic heritage of this small village and learn about some of the elements that explain the past of the Barony of Rialb.

In the afternoon, the activity will move to the Monastery of Santa Maria de Gualter. The book "The End of a Traditional Way of Life of the Catalan Peasantry," by Pere Masó Panella, will be presented, followed by a musical performance as part of the Itinera Festival, which will transform this historic space into the setting for an intimate concert.

On Sunday, Santa Maria de Gualter will once again take center stage with a guided tour of the monastery, an opportunity to learn more about its history, architecture, and evolution. At the same time, children and young people can participate in a crafts workshop, thus extending the program to families.

The European Heritage Days offer a great opportunity to explore the Barony of Rialb, discover spaces steeped in history and approach heritage from diverse perspectives.

A weekend to combine architecture, memory, culture and landscape in one of the municipalities with the greatest heritage wealth in La Noguera.
