The Guissona Bower

The Enramada festival is celebrated in Guissona on the Sunday after Corpus Christi; the Enramada is a popular festival that has been preserved to this day.

The festival is an example of how local traditions can unite the community and offer a unique experience to both residents and visitors.

On Enramada Sunday, the children participate in a very special parade. The girls wear paper bows on their heads and carry carefully decorated baskets filled with flower petals. The boys, for their part, carry cakes placed on wooden stands adorned for the occasion. This sight of boys and girls dressed in their finest clothes and with their traditional accessories creates a festive and colorful atmosphere that attracts the attention of all those present.

After the parade, the festivities continue with a solemn mass and the traditional decoration of the village fountains. At this time, petals and colorful confetti are thrown to the Virgin of Health, an act symbolizing the community's devotion and gratitude. Following this, cake is shared among all the participants, who gather in the Plaça Vell Pla to enjoy this moment of fellowship and celebration.
