"Dijous Llarder" in Vic

Vic hosts a new edition of "Dijous Llarder" (Fat Thursday)!

"Dijous Llarder" (Fat Thursday) is one of the most anticipated celebrations on the winter calendar, and this year it returns to Vic with a day full of gastronomy, music, and tradition. The Plaza Mayor will become the heart of a festival that celebrates the region's culinary culture and the festive spirit of Carnival. From early morning until nightfall, the city will offer activities designed for all ages, combining games, contests, and live performances.

The day will begin with the opening of the food area, where the public can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner featuring traditional products. One of the morning's highlights will be the Trout Competition, now in its eighth year, which invites participants to demonstrate their creativity and culinary flair. Following this, the "Dijous Llarder" (Fat Thursday) Competition will reinforce the essence of the festival, showcasing the most typical flavors of this special day.

At midday and in the afternoon, music will take center stage with DJ sets and family activities, such as the children's chocolate lollipop workshop with Sant Cacau, designed to allow the youngest members of the community to participate in the festivities. Later in the afternoon, one of the most traditional events will take place: the mocadera, "dones", pig slaughter, and pork, a clear demonstration of local cuisine and the deep roots of this celebration in the region.

The evening will culminate in a live concert, bringing an end to an intense and festive day. "Dijous Llarder" in Vic is much more than a gastronomic event; it's a popular gathering that combines tradition, culture, and community, and which, year after year, strengthens the bond between the city, its people, and its cuisine.
