Sheepdog Competition and Pirineu Pastor Festival in Llavorsí

Every Sunday of the third weekend of August, the best Catalan dogs gather in the meadow of La Coma (Llavorsí) and their participation outside of Catalonia is promoted, making the shepherd the protagonist, and showcasing the activity and instinct of the dog.

A proposal that combines tradition, education, family activities and entertainment in a privileged setting in the Pyrenees.

The competition will bring together shepherds and sheepdogs from different regions. During the trials, you'll be able to observe the bond between the animal and its handler, as well as the precision required to guide and gather the flock. Beyond the spectacle, the event highlights the shepherd's profession and its importance in preserving the mountain landscape, habitats, and environmental values.

The Pyrenees Shepherd Festival expands the experience with activities that offer a close-up look at the world of livestock farming. You'll find excursions, talks, and opportunities to reflect on the coexistence of livestock farming, tourism, and activities that take place in the natural environment.

Families will also play a prominent role, with games, treasure hunts, workshops, and shows designed to introduce pastoral traditions in an engaging way. In addition, there will be activities related to the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, recreational facilities, and cultural offerings to enjoy at your own pace.

Gastronomy and music will complete a few days full of atmosphere, with tastings, dining areas, concerts and a film screening related to the pastoral world.
