This carnival, like many others in Catalonia and other parts of the world, is characterized by being a time of celebration and debauchery before the start of Lent, a period of reflection and austerity within the Christian calendar.

During the Poboleda Carnival, the town's inhabitants and visitors dress up and participate in the Great Carnival Festival with music. People dress up, dance, sing...

In Catalonia, the highlight of the Carnival festival begins with the arrival of Jueves Lardero and the Carnival king, and ends on Ash Wednesday, the day of the burial of the sardine, just before the Lent period begins, which Traditionally it was accompanied by fasting and penance.
