Olesa de Montserrat is celebrating Carnival!

Carnival is the ultimate celebration of unbridled revelry, enjoying immense popularity, with young and old alike filling the streets in costumes and joy —a spontaneous exercise in individual and collective freedom. It is celebrated from Fat Thursday to Ash Wednesday, during a new moon, and in one week, King Carnival arrives, reigns, dies, and is buried.

The festivities begin in the afternoon with the arrival of King Carnival and the children's catwalk, a space where the youngest can show off their costumes and kick off the celebration. Following this, the spotlight shifts to the joint parade, a procession open to participants of all ages that fills the streets with creativity, music, and shared joy.

One of the most anticipated moments is the catwalk and costume contest, which invites both individual participants and groups and troupes to show their originality and ingenuity.

The day culminates in a DJ party that lasts until the early hours, complete with food trucks and a bar, creating a festive and lively atmosphere well into the night. The Olesa Carnival thus establishes itself as a participatory and inclusive event, where costumes, music, and community spirit take center stage.
