Calçotada de Valls Festival

28/01/2024
Valls

On the last weekend of January in the middle of winter, the Calçotada Festival takes place, a gastronomic day dedicated to the gastronomic product that Valls has exported to the world.

The calçotades were born in Valls and that is why it is the city of origin of the calçotada. Calçot de Valls has the qualification of Protected Geographical Indication. They have become one of the national foods of Catalonia.

A festive, popular and promotional day around calçot that imbues the streets and squares of Valls with a marked typicality. The day will feature a varied program of traditional events, festivals and competitions related to calçot: parades, demonstrations of cooking calçots on the grill, competitions for calçot growers, making calçotada sauce and eating calçots.

A succulent proposal!
