Aplec Sardanista in Montblanc
Formerly, sardanismo in Montblanc had a great importance, it began with the sound of a piano (1903) but shortly after it was replaced by the copla (1907).
With the Franco regime, the sardana remained in the form of a "regional dance". Years later, around the 1950s, the Catalan nationalist effort of Casal Montblanquí brought together traditional cultural samples. It was not until 1962 that the Grupo Sardanista was created as a section of the Museu-Arxiu.
Although for many years it was held in the hermitage of Sant Josep, it currently takes place in the Plaza Mayor, on the first Sunday in July.
