Remei's party in Avià
In October, the Sunday following Santa Remei's day, the traditional Aplec del Remei de Avià is celebrated in the Remei hermitage in Cal Castanyer.
The core of Avià was formed around the church of Sant Martí, built in the 9th century. At that time, the castle that served as a watchtower was also built. The core seems to have been walled and it is believed that there were two access doors, on one side the one on Portal Street - which, today, still preserves the arch between two houses - and the other which must have been located near Cal Gasolà.
The municipality of Avià also has an important natural, tangible and intangible heritage that invites you to discover it.
