Almenar September Fair

The September Fair in Almenar is a remnant of an old livestock fair, granted by Philip II. Although it is called a fair, the events are more typical of a major summer festival.

The program will begin with a nighttime tour of the town's various establishments and will continue the following day with the official opening ceremony, the festival's proclamation, and the opening reception. From then on, the streets, squares, and facilities of Almenar will be filled with activity throughout the weekend.

Saturday will be one of the busiest days, with the proclamation of the heirs, family entertainment, music, and various concerts and dances. The pavilion, the peñas' grounds, and other venues throughout the town will host most of the afternoon and evening events.

Sunday will combine tradition and entertainment. There will be chess, high mass, sardana dancing, a vermouth gathering, family shows, and an afternoon dance. In the evening, a pyromusical display will combine fireworks and music, before giving way to a comedy show in the pavilion.

The fair will conclude with children's activities, bowling, a tribute to senior citizens, and a grand closing dance. Special prices on rides will also be offered throughout the day in celebration of Children's Day.
