2 days in Sigean: the Grand Reserve Africaine and the Grandes Grottes de Canalettes

This April 12th and 13th, discover the experience of the Grand Reserve Africaine de Sigean and the Grandes Grottes de Canalettes!

DAY 1 - PLACE OF ORIGIN - ÓRGAS DE ISLE SUR TET - VILLEFRANCHE DE CONFLENTE - GREAT CAVES CANALETAS - EMPURIABRAVA.

Morning departure towards the south of France. Stop en route for breakfast (not included) and continue the journey to reach the French town of Ille-Sur-Tet where, hidden in the middle of nature, between the sea and the mountains, are the fantastic Orgues d´Ille-Sur-Tet.

We will go along an 800-metre path until we reach the incredible formation of natural sculptures: "The Fairy Chimneys", a unique mineral landscape with a fantastic contrast of colours and shapes that the water has been constantly sculpting for 5 million years, creating an unforgettable postcard.

After this spectacular visit, we will transfer by coach to the restaurant in Villefranche de Conflent for lunch in this pretty walled town with cobbled streets with a medieval past and which was part of the old Catalan border. Next we will visit the Grandes Grottes de Canalettes.

We will enter the centre of the earth to enjoy spectacular views of one of the largest caves in the south of France. At the end of this fantastic visit, transfer to our hotel in Empuriabrava. Dinner and accommodation.

DAY 2 - EMPURIABRAVA - SIGEAN AFRICA RESERVE - PLACE OF ORIGIN.

Breakfast and departure to France to reach the Sigean African Reserve, home to more than 3,500 animals, for a bus tour and a walking tour. During the bus tour we will travel on a 7.5 km circuit entering the three parks of the African Undergrowth where dwarf buffalos, impals, zebras, Springboks, ostriches, giraffes live... We will continue to the Tibetan bear park and the lion park and then to the Savannah parks of Somalia.

This route crosses a natural environment that alternates ponds, swamps, garrigues, pine forests, plains and hills, divided into large spatial units of about ten hectares and where a great diversity of species evolve and reproduce, most of them African, but also belonging to the local fauna.

After this part of the visit we will have free time to walk around the park, where the great lake with hundreds of flamingos and the savannah plain from where you can see the wildebeest, zebras and ostriches in a natural habitat stand out.

To make the most of our time, we will have a picnic lunch at the hotel (included) or we can have lunch at the park restaurant (not included). At the agreed time we will return to Barcelona.
