2 days on the Yellow Train and the Historic Routes of Roussillon
On May 17 and 18, join the spectacular Yellow Train tour and discover the Historic Routes of Roussillon!
DAY 1 - PLACE OF ORIGIN - CASTELLÓ D'EMPÚRIES - COLLIOURE - EMPURIABRAVA.
Morning departure for northern Catalonia. Stop en route for breakfast (not included). We will continue our journey to Castelló d'Empúries, where we will stroll through its narrow streets and immerse ourselves in the Middle Ages to discover its beautiful Gothic church of Santa Maria, known as the Cathedral of Empordà. Transfer to the hotel and lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel to Collioure, a picturesque town on the French coast presided over by an imposing medieval castle and its lighthouse church located by the sea.
A place of inspiration for famous painters and the exile residence of Antonio Machado, we can explore its narrow streets, filled with countless hidden corners that will undoubtedly leave lasting memories. We will have free time to explore its lively streets with a bohemian and medieval feel. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2- EMPURIABRAVA - CANALETAS CAVES - THE YELLOW TRAIN OF LA CERDANYA - PLACE OF ORIGIN.
Breakfast. Departure to explore the French Cerdanya region to visit the Cuevas Grandes de Canaletes. We'll delve into the center of the earth to enjoy spectacular views of one of the largest caves in southern France. Next, we'll travel to the medieval village of Villefranche de Conflent, where we can explore the cobblestone streets of this beautiful walled town that was part of the former Catalan border. Lunch at a restaurant.
In the afternoon, we'll begin a spectacular journey on the legendary Cerdanya Yellow Train between Villefranche de Conflent and Mont-Lluis. A panoramic ride that crosses majestic mountains and bridges. At the end of the tour, we'll continue our journey by coach to our destination.
