Perot Rocaguinarda Interpretation Center

At the Espai Perot Rocaguinarda you will be able to learn about the figure of the bandit from Lluçana, born in Oristà in 1582 and died in Naples on an undetermined date. Through texts, images, objects and audiovisual projections, the facility addresses aspects related not only to the real biography of the famous historical character of the bandit Perot Rocaguinarda, but also his literary dimension, which makes him present in the work of renowned writers such as Cervantes, Lope de Vega, the Rector of Vallfogona, Verdaguer and Maragall, some of whom were contemporaries of the bandit himself.

The Space also offers a tour of the legendary side of Rocaguinarda, through which the bandit became - even in his lifetime - a mythologized character, whom popular culture turned into a kind of Catalan Robin Hood, with a reputation for being honest and fair.

There are also references to the forests of Lluçanès and other places in Catalonia that were the scene of the actions of Rocaguinarda and his gang between the 16th and 17th centuries. The equipment also does not overlook the figure - possibly fictitious - of Mercè de Pecanins, the bandit's promise, who symbolises the link between Rocaguinarda and Olost, a link that has its most popular embodiment in the pair of giants of the municipality, who can also be seen in the Space.

Space accessible for people with reduced mobility: space located on the ground floor accessible by wheelchair. The panels and audiovisuals, which are part of the La Mirada Táctil project, can be viewed with audio description and sign language.
