Long route, Initiation Course with Octavi Climbing Guide

Weekend of July 27 and 28, 2024.

This course is aimed at those people who have a good foundation in sport climbing and are interested in starting to delve into the practice of equipped long route climbing, knowing and learning about materials, maneuvers, knots and much more, in order to become autonomous people for a safe and efficient practice of wall climbing.

The course consists of two training days.

The first day will take place in a sports sector where we will perform the following maneuvers:

• Material review.
• Basic and advanced knots.
• Double rope belay techniques (one first and one or two seconds of rope).
• Progression techniques (double rope management).
• Maneuvering of equipped meetings and management of the ropes in the meeting.
• Rappel maneuver.
• Interpretation of reviews.

The second day will focus on climbing a long route to put into practice all the maneuvers seen the previous day.

Material for the course:

• Approved climbing helmet.
• Harness.
• Cat feet.
• Belayer (Reverse).
• Anchor/lifeline boss.
• 3 safety carabiners (type D).
• 2 safety carabiners (HMS type).
• Baga or cordino of 120 cm for the meeting.
• Cordino by maxard.
• Comfortable clothes.
• Sunglasses.
• Sunscreen.
• Water and food.
• Toilet paper.

Includes:

• Specific material.
• Sports climbing technician (AEGM member).
• Accident insurance.

Does not include:

• Transport.
