The Jewish community lived in Girona for 6 centuries.

Find out where the Jews lived, what activities they did, where the 3 medieval synagogues were located and much more. Climb the Gironella Tower, a place directly linked to the persecution suffered by the Jews in 1391.

Did you know that the famous Kabbalist Nahmanides was born here? He was a doctor, philosopher and Grand Rabbi of Catalonia.

Girona is known as the "mother of Israel" and was a great spiritual center.

With this visit we discovered the Museum of Jewish History, which contains:

• Medieval objects and documents such as ketubás and notarial contracts.

• The most important collection of Hebrew tombstones on the Peninsula, from Montjuïc in Girona.

• The last mikveh (Jewish ritual bath) of the Girona community.
