Església de Sant Serni de Nagol Nagol
Small in size but of great historical value, the 11th-century church of San Serni de Nagol stands out for its Romanesque simplicity and perfect integration into its mountainous surroundings. The building retains a rectangular nave with a semicircular apse and a bell tower, characteristic elements of religious architecture from this period.
Inside, the mural paintings, discovered in 1978, are one of its main attractions. These depictions of angelic figures and symbols of good and evil connect the viewer with the spirituality and mentality of the period.
The temple also preserves a remarkable movable heritage, including a 15th-century altarpiece dedicated to Saint Serni, a piece of artistic and devotional interest. Furthermore, its thorny processional cross, currently on display in the Espai Columba, is a unique example of medieval wood sculpture.
Sant Serni de Nagol is not only a testament to medieval art and religiosity, but also offers a space of serenity that invites reflection and contemplation of a historical and artistic legacy.
