Coves de Benifallet Benifallet

The Meravelles Caves are the tourist epicenter of the municipality of Benifallet. However, in this area, Neolithic remains had already been found, such as the cave station of the Culla Cave in which two very stylized, black human figures are represented.

Fragments of pottery and flint utensils have been found in the Aumidiella cave.

But these are not the only caves that the municipality of Benifallet has. There are also the Marigot Cave, the Maravillas Cave , the Cueva del Dos and L'Avenc del Sifó, important for the formations they contain such as stalactites.   and   stalagmites. The group of all these caves is called the Benifallet caves.

In addition, in the municipal area we find two historic towns. One from the 7th century BC in which a large amount of Phoenician ceramics has been found. The other is from the Iberian period and has a wall 3m high and 4m wide that is called Castellot de la Roca Roja. This town can be visited, since it is a museum with panels so that the visitor can take a tour.

One of the best-known tourist options throughout the territory, made up of a set of spectacular formations of very varied structures such as: stalactites, stalagmites, columns, lava flows, flags, macaroni and the large number of eccentrics that seem to disobey the law of gravity.
