Sun Observation at the Lladurs Castle Astronomical Centre
Have you ever seen our star, the Sun, with a telescope?
Did you know that it is necessary to use approved filters to avoid eye injuries? Do you want to see sunspots, protuberances and explosions or solar flares in complete safety?
If you want to know more about the Sun and observe through a telescope specifically designed for this type of observation, you will love this activity.
This experience takes place on Sundays at 11:00. You can book a private session for your group or family.
We will start the activity in the room explaining details of our Sun and what we can see in the telescope and we will end by climbing the tower to admire a unique landscape and observe the Sun through telescopes with two filters, a conventional one to see the spots and a Hydrogen Alpha filter to see the protuberances and solar explosions.
In case of bad weather or clouds, an alternative activity will be held on the sun and events that we can see related to our star in the near future. And the tower will be visited if conditions permit.
Don't miss it!
