Our history

Cellers Tarroné is a unique winery located in Batea that produces wines with personality, character and elegance, which are a reflection of the work of an entire team for the family project with more than 80 years of history. We are united by a passion for producing great wines in the Terra Alta Designation of Origin, making a commitment to quality, respecting the land and the final product.

Four generations during which we have passed on the values that the land has given us, making them our benchmarks. For more than 80 years we have maintained the savoir faire that can be seen in every drop of wine. Year after year we have invested and innovated in the vineyard and in the winery facilities to always ensure the highest quality of the grapes and the wines. We transmit the values of the vineyard and the terroir to the wines.

Ours is a privileged environment; with a climate and native varieties that give the wine its own authentic character, to which we add effort and teamwork as a philosophy.

About us

For a few years now we have been opening up to wine tourism because we want you to get to know us, to listen to us, to taste us by feeling the smells and aromas of Batea, of the winery, of the vineyards, and to know that ours is not just a family business where wine is made, which is also true, but a way of life in Terra Alta.

We like to welcome people who are curious about how we make wine and who are mainly eager to try our wines. We have a large and bright space for tastings, as well as being able to show Lily Brick 's artistic mural, which is like the gateway to wine culture, in Batea and Bodegas Tarroné. A mural that has become our photo call and that visually summarises where we come from and where we are. Making wine in Terra Alta since 1942!

Visits

We have different types of visits, in the vineyard, in the winery, around the old town of Batea... And all of them end up immortalised in the mural of maroon tones created by Lily Brick from Lleida. An artistic work that also represents a turning point in the winery. The desire to open up, to tell others, to show what we do with complete transparency and honesty.

Our motivation for the visits is very simple: to get to know us, to understand us, to be passionate about the world of wine, to know that for years many families in Terra Alta have made a living from growing vines, that we respect them and that we cannot understand our trade without ensuring its permanence over time. And we explain all this through the wines when we taste them, which are from the winery's intermediate and high ranges, because we would not forgive ourselves if anyone left home without tasting the best we know how to make.
