Caves Bohigas

Caves Bohigas is a family winery in Òdena, in Anoia, on the Can Macià estate, which has more than 800 years of history.

Cava and wine are produced here, and a wide range of wine tourism activities are offered. You can take a classic tour, explore the farmhouse, walk among the vineyards, listen to live music between sips of cava, or even open your own bottle.

With over 800 years of history, Can Macià is a site of historical and artistic interest, renowned for the beauty of its buildings. The farmhouse preserves the traditional Catalan style and is surrounded by the winery, cellars, and a chapel built in 1922 in honor of Our Lady of Mercy, decorated with paintings by Josep Pey.

Currently, twelve people work there, and approximately 550,000 bottles are produced each year: roughly 500,000 of cava and 50,000 of wine. Since 2002, Bohigas has been part of Terra Nostra de Vinos, a consortium of five wineries. More than 80% of production is exported.

Visit Bohigas Caves

Discover the step-by-step process of cava production as you tour the vat room, barrel room, and cellar. During the visit, you'll also learn about the history of the Can Macià family and estate, and see the family chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy, dating back to the early 20th century. The tour concludes with a tasting of two of the winery's products.

Corners of Can Macià

An in-depth tour of the estate to explore its grounds while learning how the wines and cavas are made. You'll see the vineyard, the vat room, the barrel and amphora room, and the underground cellar. Afterwards, you'll visit the family chapel and the farmhouse: the armory, the dining room, the ladies' room, the hunting room, the pantry, the bedrooms, the billiard room, and the attics. The tour concludes with a tasting of three products from the Bohigas family range.

Bohigas Walk&Wine

A morning spent among vineyards on the Puig Aguilera mountain, exploring trails, dry-stone huts, and an old vineyard of Sumoll, a native red grape variety. Afterwards, a traditional Catalan breakfast with local products and Bohigas olive oil, a guided tour of the winery, and a tasting of cava and wine.

Make your own sparkling wine

Be a winemaker for a day. After visiting the winery, you'll learn how to disgorge a bottle of cava (remove the yeast) and seal it with a cork, plaque, and cap. Finally, you'll decorate it with a personalized label and take it home. Includes a tasting of two products.

MusiCava

A pairing of music and cava. The visit to the winery, including the vat room, barrel room, underground cellar, and chapel, is accompanied by a musician who, at certain points along the route, transports you to another era. The experience concludes with a cava tasting accompanied by live music composed specifically for each product.
