Family workshops at CaixaForum
Family programming throughout the year to experiment, create, discover, play, reflect…
22/02 to 02/03 - Fake news: how to combat a plague of lies. Video games for debate (+14)
Video games allow us to simulate a situation and be an active part of it. We invite you to play the Plague Inc. video game – a plague simulator – with your family and create a network of fake news, designing strategies to spread them and then being able to evaluate as a group which resources have been most effective.
The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to combating fake news, using game materials created especially for the activity and applying what we have learned by playing.
During the activity, moments of reflection and debate are interspersed to share the conclusions drawn from the game and relate everything to social data, real facts and personal experiences.
Approximate duration of the activity: 2 hours.
08 and 09/03 - Botanical species of the vertical forest with Lucía Gómez (+8)
Vertical gardens and forests are a creative and efficient way to incorporate nature into urban spaces. In this family workshop, you will learn about the CaixaForum Vertical Forest and discover the plant species that make it up.
You will enter the plant world and learn to carefully observe the details of plants, such as shape, texture, colors and patterns.
Thanks to the illustrator Lucía Gómez, you will discover the keys that scientific illustration professionals use to end up creating your own drawing.
26 and 27/04 - The triadic workshop. Dance, invent, experiment (+5)
We invite you to relive the triadic ballet and the Bauhaus festivities. In this workshop we will play with all the essential elements of the arts: colour, shape, space, sound, movement... and we will fuse them into a complete and unique work of art.
And how do you do this? By dancing, designing and building. By inventing, experimenting and enjoying.
Workshop by Juguetoría.
Approximate duration of the activity: 90 min
11/01 to 06/04 - Exquisite designs (+5)
What should the throne of a king with reduced mobility look like? And a chair for a modern fakir? And the cup of a veterinary student?
In this workshop you will be able to create objects like designers do, thinking about who and how the person who will use them is. But we propose to do it in a very special way, like the surrealists did long ago with their exquisite corpses, looking for parts of very diverse origins and putting them together as if it were a collage.
I'm sure you'll come up with some really fun designs. Are you up for it?
Approximate duration of the activity: 60 min.
Free semi-directed activity.
*Pending summer, autumn and Christmas dates.
